Discourse Forum on Friday mourns the demise of professor Haruna Wakili a renowned Professor of history and DVC Administration of Bayero University, Kano.
The forum, in a statement by its Chairman, Huzaifa Dokaji has condoled with the Bayero University, Kano community, people of Jigawa State and Nigeria over the passing of an excellent academic and a fine intellectual.
Dokaji stated that: “It is with grief and heavy heart that we received the sad news of the death of Professor Haruna Wakili, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (administration) and lecturer at the Department of History, Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
“Professor Wakili was an excellent academic, visionary administrator, and an unusually progressive intellectual. Both his political and academic journeys are stories of humility, accomplishment, sincerity, transparency, initiative and patriotism. His commitment to, and investment in, academic and varied social and political endeavours across the Nigerian federation will forever be remembered.
“Discourse Forum, wishes to convey its heartfelt condolences to the family, university community, Department of History, Bayero University, Kano, the good people of Hadejia Emirate and Jigawa state.” He said
