Development: Lawmaker Urges Youths To Shun Divisive Acts

Nasarawa State assemblyman Danladi Jatau has urged youths to shun divisive acts for development to thrive.

Jatau, APC member representing Kokona West in the state House of Assembly, made the appeal on Sunday at Garaku.

He spoke at the Eggon Youth Movement (EYM), tagged Kokona 2021 Youth Day and fund raising in Garaku, Kokona Local  Government Area of the state.

Jatau, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Public Complaints, Petitions and Security, said that shunning divisive tendencies by youths would go a long way in ensuring speedy development in the country.

He commended the youths for organising the event in order to foster unity and peaceful co-existence among themselves and called for its sustenance.

“I urge you to continue to partnering with other youths, embrace peace as well as partner with government for development to thrive,” he said.

Jatau commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration for constructing Bassa road in his constituency, while urging the people of his constituency to support the governor to succeed.

The lawmaker reassured of sound and quality representation at the state legislature in order to bring the much needed dividends of democracy to his constituents.

Dr Justina Kotso, the Chairlady of the occassion, who is the Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, also commended the youths for bringing themselves together.

Kotso, who was represented by her Confidential Secretary, Mrs Charity Abimiku, also urged the youths to support government policies and programmes at all times to succeed.

On his part, Mr Daniel Anyuabaga, the National President, Eggon Youth Movement (EYM), national body, urged youths to continue to unite and embrace peace and tolerate one another for the overall development of Eggon nation, the state and Nigeria at large.

Anyuabaga, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Gambo Kigbu, assured of the association’s readiness to continue to partner with the government and other ethnic nationalities across the state toward the promotion of peace and development.

Earlier, Mr Daniel Akpavan, the Kokona branch Chairman of EYM, said that they have decided to organise the event in order to bring the youths and other Eggon people of the area together and to promote peace amongst themesleves.

Akpavan also that the day was organised in order to raise fund for the building of the association’s secretariat.

The chairman assured of the association’s readiness to partner with the government, security agencies and other groups toward the promotion of peace in the area and the state at large.

He appreciated dignitaries for gracing the occassion and prayed for more robust engagement. (NAN)
