Bauchi SSA Media Insists On Deepening Partnership Between Police And Journalists

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Bauchi State Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado has emphasized the need for active synergy between police and journalists for peaceful coexistence in the society.

Comrade Mukhtar Gidado was speaking when the newly posted Police Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command paid him an advocacy visit in his office, Government House Bauchi.

The Governor’s Media Aide was on the belief that, for the police to discharge its assigned responsibilities as effected, the need for partnership with journalists is imperative.

He insisted that, journalists and police are partners in progress as they are all working for the benefit of humanity.

“I welcome you to my office, i am highly delighted with your visit, I was fully briefed about your new position by your predecessor Kamal Datti.

“As you are aware, journalists and police are partners in progress, because all of us are working for the public, in doing so we need active synergy among us.

“We will give you the necessary support, I am very confident in your ability to consolidate on the achievements recorded by the immediate PPRO particularly working closely with journalists working in the state.”

Comrade Mukhtar Gidado who is the Deputy National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists, pleaded with the new PPRO to be patience with journalists due to the peculiar nature of their duties.

The newly posted Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Wakili said the advocacy visit is to seek for partnership with the Government House’s Media Directorate in the areas of need.

According to him, building relationship between the two bodies will go along way in ensuring effective service delivery.

“I am here to seek for your support and indeed the support of all the staff of the directorate, we cannot deliver without working with critical stakeholders.”

“I assure you my doors will remain open for journalists especially on informations that requires urgent attention.”
