The Jumu’a Mosque at the Emir’s Palace in Birnin Kebbi has been upgraded into a modern worship center capable of accommodating thousands of Muslim faithful. The project, which began during the previous administration, was stalled due to funding issues and other challenges. However, the current government of Governor Nasir Idris provided the necessary funding for its completion.

According to Manir Musa Jega, CEO of M-Tech Construction Company, the project’s handler, Governor Idris has instructed the commencement of Friday prayers at the mosque starting this week. Jega expressed gratitude to the governor, the Emir of Gwandu, and the project committee for their support.

The renovated mosque features an expanded inner chamber and outside shade to accommodate more worshippers in a comfortable and conducive environment. Manir Jega described the mosque as the most modern in Kebbi State and the region, promoting and strengthening moral values.

A worshipper at the mosque, Ladan Abubakar, thanked Governor Idris for completing the project and urged fellow Muslims to keep the mosque clean, as instructed by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
