Sen. Bala Ibn Na’Allah, representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, has urged Nigerians to collectively support the ongoing war against banditry and other security challenges bedevelling the country.

Na’Allah made the appeal in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr Garba Muhammad, which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

The senator made the appeal while reacting to the rescue of five students and two teachers of Federal Government College Birnin Yauri by troops.

Na’Allah had met in Zuru with stakeholders in the zone on the lingering security situation in the state.

He observed that the contributions of every patriotic citizen was needed to effectively curb the lingering menace.

“Security agencies require support, useful and reliable information from people to diligently deal with the situation,” he said.

Na’Allah urged the military to sustain its onslaught on bandits terrorising communities in Yauri and Zuru Emirates in the southern part of Kebbi.

He commended all security agencies and local vigilante groups that took part in degrading bandits terrorising Zuru, Yauri and surroundings, which also led to the rescue of the kidnapped students.

“I also commend the timely intervention of the Federal Government and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku-Bagudu and all those who contributed in hunting down these criminal elements.

“I assure all security agencies that the Zuru and Yauri communities will cooperate fully and render all necessary support in the task of hunting down the bandits and other criminal elements in our society.

“Ours will be a determination to deal squarely with the disturbing security situation that we found ourselves.

“We thank all those who personally called to share our grief and tribulations.

“Once again, we remain grateful to our security agents and local security for their gallantry and statemanship,” Na’Allah added. (NAN)
