The joint security operatives currently fighting bandits along Kundu, Rafi and Mashegu areas of Niger State have killed over 100 bandits.
A source in Kundu told LEADERSHIP that the bandits were killed around Kundu in Wushishi local government area of the state.
It was learnt that the security operatives received intelligence on the movement of the hoodlums across Kontagora Road through Akere and immediately mobilised ahead of the bandits.
The military closed in on them at Kundu and engaged the bandits in gun battle leading to the killing of over a hundred of the hoodlums.
Niger State Commissioner for Homeland and Security, General Abdullahi Bello Mohammed confirmed the incident while specially lauding the military and vigilantes for the feat.
