Scholarship: Hon. Salis Empowers 250 Students In Kwaya-Kusur

For remarkable commitment on education and empowerment, Hon. Salihu Alhaji Ibrahim has empowered scholarships to 250 students from Kwaya Kusar Local Government Area of Borno state, to pursue their studies in various higher institutions across the country.

This timely intervention comes at a hardship moment when some students are struggling to have a school fees due to the prevailing economic challenges.

The beneficiaries come from educational levels; with those pursuing master’s degrees receiving ₦50,000 each, Undergraduates students received ₦30,000, while those who are in polytechnic and colleges were granted ₦20,000 and ₦10,000, respectively.

He emphasized that this initiative is aimed at alleviating the financial burden on families and ensuring that students remain focused on their educational pursuits.

Hon. Salis urged the students to prioritize their studies, recognizing education as a crucial tool for individual and societal development. He noted that this scholarship program is designed to complement the efforts of the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, whose administration has invested significant resources in the education sector.

“We must support our governor, who has remarkably advanced education and other sectors of development in our state. Today, every aspect of life in Borno has been touched by his efforts, and it is our responsibility to contribute to this positive change.” He said.

Furthermore, Hon. Salis revealed that plans are well underway to empower women and girls in Kwaya Kusar. Saying that, his focus is on skill acquisition in areas such as tailoring, Point of Sale (P.O.S) services, and other sustainable trades, providing the women and girls with the tools they need for self-reliance and economic independence.

When speaking, the chairman of APC in Kwaya kusar local government, Hon. Nuhu Gadam has thanked the donor for his developmental strive and yearning to education.
