Police Arrest Herbalist Over Alleged Rape Of ‘Client’ In Adamawa

Operatives of the Adamawa Police Command have arrested a 49-year-old herbalist, Suleiman Manzo, over allegation bordering on rape.
The arrest of the suspect who is popularly called Suleiman Makeri, a resident of Mallam Nura ward in Numan town, followed complaint of his sexually abusing one of his clients, a 22-year-old woman who went to seek traditional medication.
According to the unnamed survivor who spent almost a week in a ward constructed for patients in the suspect’s residence, the herbalist sexually abused her after administering a scent that made her unconscious.
The survivor added that after recovery, she realised that she had been sexually abused by the herbalist.
The suspect who claimed to specialise in curing typhoid, cancer, fractures and Jinn, admitted to administering herbs on his ‘patient’ resulted in her vomiting and the necessity of applying intoxicant scent and other herbs below her navel.
Spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command (PPRO), SP Suleiman Nguroje said the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Morris Dankwambo had directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, adding that upon completion, the suspect would be changed to court.
