NYCN Commends DG NITDA, Tasks Him To Do More

The leadership of Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has commended the Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi CCIE on the occasion of his one year anniversary as te sixth DG of the Nigeria IT regulatory body.

In a statement made by its National President, Dr Isah Abubakar, the association said it can’t be silent on unprecedented achievements recorded from 20th August 2019 to 20th August 2020.
According to the association, Mallam Kashifu a young, vibrant and intelligent personality has proven that youth can lead, and his appointments is an eye opener for the good people of this country and the world at large.

“He has proven that transformation is possible within the shortest possible time. As the chief Executive NITDA, his recommendation by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim is one of the best in the history of Nigeria,” the statement read.

The association noted that the Agency, under the supervision of the Ministry has successfully initiated and executed several developmental projects that empowered civil servants, women and youths across the country.

“We viewed with awe how the Agency initiated programmes such as the Start-Up Friday, Start-Up Clinic, FutureHack, Tech4COVID-19 Challenge, Capacity Building for Artisans, Girls, Women and People Living with Disabilities. This quite commendable,” he added.

He further said that NITDA introduced Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Scheme that aims to provide opportunities for building the capacity for both hub owners and start-ups to ensure massive creation of technology entrepreneurs and jobs within the industry, and launched the NITDA Academy for Research and Training on the 29th April, 2020 as well as the unveiling of the Virtual Training Programme by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.

“As an association promoting youths’ participation in politics, we want to thank Mr President for giving one of our best a chance to redefine leadership, he has done well in area of capacity building for staff and there welfare top his priorities.

“The leadership of this council celebrate you, more years ahead for greater success and opportunities,” the statement read.
