” We invited you to know your 2020 budget performance for the year under review as His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule, will present the 2021 budget very soon.

” The oversight function will guide us to add or subtract the budget of the Ministry when the governor presents the 2021 budget before the House,” he said.

The chairman also assured of the committee’s readiness to give the local government system in the state the utmost priority its deserved.

He commended the ministry for achieving over 55 per cent budget performance  in spite of the outbreak of COVID-19.

Earlier,  Yusuf-Turaki, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, thanked the committee for being up and doing in supporting the activities of his ministry and called for the sustenance of the spirit.

Turaki assured of his ministry’s commitment to continue to initiate good policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the local government staff and people at the grassroots.

He, however, said that the outbreak of COVID-19  had affected the ministry’s  activities during the year under review.
