Lockdown: Yobe Govt. Extends Border Closure Till April 30

Yobe State Government says it has has extended the border closure with neighbouring states and stay at home order for workers for three weeks.

Abdullahi Bego, the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, made the disclosure while reviewing progress of campaign against COVID-19, on Tuesday in Damaturu.

”The Yobe COVID-19 prevention and control committee under the leadership of the deputy governor, Idi Gubana has met and reviewed some of the measures.

“The committee resolved that in view of the ongoing prevalence of COVID-19 in some parts of the country, movement into and out of the state will continue to remain restricted.

“And the stay at home and work directives for civil servants from Grade Levels 12 and below has been extended to April 30,” he said.

Bego also commended the people for their cooperation to the committee and adherence to precautionary measures outlines by ministries of Health.

He noted that especially on social distancing, regular hand-washing, staying at home and good respiratory etiquettes.
