Kebbi State To Host International Day Of Democracy On September 14, 2024

Kebbi State will observe the United Nations International Day of Democracy on September 14, 2024, at the Presidential Banquet Hall, GRA, Birnin Kebbi, with the theme “Empowering the Next Generation and Cordial Re-assurance for a Peaceful Nigeria.”

The event aims to acknowledge Kebbi State’s peaceful elections during the 2023 general election, which demonstrated the state’s commitment to democratic principles.

Dignitaries expected to attend include the World Peace President from the Kingdom of Denmark and international peace ambassadors. The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) will confer the International Eminent Peace Ambassador award on Governor Nasir Idris, alongside governors from Sokoto, Niger, Katsina, and Zamfara states, in recognition of their efforts to promote peace in the region.
