Kebbi State House Of Assembly Passes Four Bills To  Second Reading

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has passed four bills sent by the Executive Arm of Government to second reading. The bills are:

1. Kebbi State Local Government (Amendment) Bill, 2024

2. Kebbi State Local Government Service Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2024

3. Kebbi State Transport Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2024

4. Kebbi State Electricity Bill, 2024

The bills were referred to appropriate committees for further legislative actions after a motion was adopted by the members. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, requested committee chairmen to present their reports to the floor within a specified timeframe.

The Electricity Bill aims to establish the Kebbi Electricity Regulatory Commission to regulate electricity matters and promote investment in renewable and non-renewable energy sources.

During the sitting, the Speaker read a letter from the Kebbi State Auditor General, Faruk Rufa’i, submitting the 2023 accounts of the Kebbi State Government for review.

After the sitting, the Speaker decorated two police security aides, Escort Commander Bala Yakubu Kamba and Security Officer Aminu Bala Sanyinna, with their new ranks of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
