“Kebbi State Governor Commits To Involving Traditional Institutions In Developmental Programs”

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has assured traditional rulers that his administration will continue to involve them in developmental programs aimed at improving the wellbeing of the people.

The governor made this commitment when a delegation from Besse Community paid him a thank-you visit at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, to appreciate the appointment of Professor Tijjani Muhammad Bande as the new District Head of Besse District in KoKo-Besse Local Government.

Governor Idris emphasized his administration’s commitment to involving traditional institutions in development programs, citing the rehabilitation of the KoKo-Besse-Zariya-Kalakala-Bagudo road as an example. He noted that the Federal Government has approved the project, and the contractor will soon mobilize to the site.

The governor also announced plans to develop towns in the area and other parts of the state after the completion of the facelift of the state capital, Birnin Kebbi. He added that the government will rehabilitate between 30 and 50 schools in KoKo-Besse to improve education in the area.

Governor Idris congratulated Professor Bande on his appointment, describing him as a renowned scholar and diplomat who has projected and promoted the image of Kebbi State and Nigeria on the international stage. He assured Professor Bande of his support in governing his people successfully.

Earlier, the District Head of Dutsinmari, Alhaji Muhammadu MuALLAHyidi Usman, and Professor Abubakar ABDULLAHI Bagudo, on behalf of the people of Besse, thanked Governor Idris for approving Professor Bande’s appointment. They expressed confidence in Professor Bande’s ability to apply his experience and knowledge to develop the district and appealed to the governor to offer full support to the new District Head.
