Kebbi Governor’s Special Adviser Launches Malaria Fumigation Campaign In Nasarawa Two Area

In an effort to protect the health of residents in shiyar Sarakuna Nasarawa two Area, Birnin Kebbi, an area fumigation campaign has been launched to combat malaria.

The campaign, sponsored by Alhaji Yahaya Sarki, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kebbi State, focuses on fumigating drainages to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, thereby reducing malaria cases and other related illnesses.

The initiative addresses growing concerns over malaria outbreaks in Birnin Kebbi, particularly exacerbated by the rainy season. Nasarawa One has been especially vulnerable due to its geographic features, which facilitate mosquito breeding.

During the campaign launch, Alhaji Yahaya Sarki, while in an interview with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, emphasized the importance of community health in promoting sustainable development. He noted that the fumigation was a second phrase and aims to eradicate mosquitoes and increase awareness about preventive measures, such as using mosquito nets, clearing stagnant water, and avoiding flooding.

Health experts have welcomed the campaign, highlighting that malaria remains a significant public health challenge in Kebbi State. They expressed optimism that the fumigation efforts will help reduce malaria-related illnesses and deaths in shiyar Sarakuna Nasarawa two Area in Birnin Kebbi local government.

The fumigation process involves a team of trained personnel using safe and effective insecticides to target key mosquito breeding sites in the entire shiyar Sarakuna and the neighborhood areas of Nasarawa two.

This comprehensive approach seeks to disrupt the malaria transmission cycle and improve residents’ well-being.

The areas volunteers and leaders have actively supported the initiative, assisting in spreading awareness and facilitating the fumigation process. They praised the collaboration between the Governor’s aide, health experts, and community members, suggesting it could serve as a model for other areas facing similar challenges.

Stakeholders are hopeful that continued mosquito control and health education efforts will significantly decrease malaria cases in Nasarawa One. The Governor’s aide has committed to supporting future community-driven health initiatives, reaffirming the government’s dedication to enhancing health and well-being across Kebbi State’s 21 local government areas.
