Flooding Devastates Argungu Kingdom, Kebbi State SEMA Chairman Leads Relief Efforts”

A Saturday night and Sunday morning flood has ravaged the Argungu Kingdom in Kebbi state, leaving a trail of destruction and displacement in its wake. In response to the disaster, the Chairman of Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Barrister Bello Yakubu, led a team of top government officials, including the state Deputy Governor, to visit the affected villages and provide emergency relief support.

The SEMA Chairman and his team visited Bayawa, Tiggi, Fakon Sarki Settlement, and Kara Area in Argungu town, where they assessed the damage and distributed relief materials to the affected residents. The donated items included foodstuff such as Rice, Beans, Millets, and Maize, as well as non-food items like Groundnut oil, Mosquito nets, Soaps, Plastic rubbers, Mattresses, and Blankets.

Barrister Yakubu expressed sympathy with the victims and assured them of the state government’s commitment to providing support during this difficult time. He also urged the affected residents to remain calm and promised that the government would do everything possible to mitigate the effects of the flood.

The Deputy Governor, who accompanied the SEMA Chairman, also commiserated with the victims and praised the efforts of the emergency management agency in responding to the disaster. He assured the residents that the state government would work closely with federal agencies to provide additional support and assistance.

The relief materials were distributed to the affected villages, with each village receiving a fair share of the donated items. The residents, who had been struggling to cope with the aftermath of the flood, expressed gratitude to the state government and SEMA for the timely intervention.

The visit and donation of relief materials by the SEMA Chairman and his team have brought hope to the affected residents, who are now beginning to rebuild their lives after the devastating flood.
