First Prize and Giving Day, Emphasizes Support For Orphans And Vulnerable Children

In a heartwarming ceremony held at smart Academy, Muhammadu Adamu Aliero Housing Estate, at Gwadangaji in Birnin Kebbi, where the occupants gathered to celebrate the school’s first-ever Prize and Giving Day.

The Smart Generation Academy, was established in the year 2022 and as well founded with the mission of supporting orphans, vulnerable, and less privileged children, marked the occasion with a spirited event that highlighted both academic achievements and the ongoing need for community support.

The event, which took place at Muhammadu Adamu Aliero Housing Estate, Gwadangaji in Birnin Kebbi in the school’s hall, featured an awards ceremony recognizing students for their outstanding achievements in academics and extracurricular activities. Prizes were awarded to top-performing students, celebrating their dedication and hard work.

The day was not only a celebration of academic excellence but also a testament to the school’s commitment to providing a nurturing environment for its students.

In her keynote address, the founder of Smart Generation Academy, Dr. Ambassador Nafisa Abubakar Zaki, spoke passionately about the school’s mission. She emphasized that the academy is dedicated to enrolling orphans, vulnerable, and less privileged children free of charge, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their access to quality education.

” We started with orphan by name Umar and his mother was our school nanny, gradually we begin to have more number of orphans, vulnerable’s, less privilege and those that their parents can afford to pay their school fees. So that’s how the enrollment number increases. She narrated”.

“I have purchased a plot of land from my personal money and insha Allah building construction will commence. But I need immediate support of building materials or a financial support to any individuals, internal and external organizations or government and among others. She appealed”.

According her, the present study centre was an Islamiyya school of which we pay little amount of money for us to operate in the building. So there’s urgent need for us to get permanent centre because as am talking now, we are planning to run college of education courses of which we have an affiliation with Kebbi State University Science and Technology Aliero (KSUSTA) to run education diploma courses, she said”.

Equally,we had a formal registration with the Kebbi State ministry of Basic and Secondary education to legalized the running of our school.

Dr. Nafisa expressed her gratitude for the individuals and community’s support and highlighted the significance of collective efforts in making the school’s mission a reality.

The Founder also underscored the pressing need for continued support from governments, well-meaning individuals and organizations. She urged attendees to contribute to the school and its programs, noting that their support would directly benefit the orphans and vulnerable children the academy aims to assist.

Her call to action resonated deeply with those present, emphasizing the importance of community, individuals among others involvement in sustaining the school’s efforts.

The event also featured a giving fair, where attendees had the opportunity to make donations, pledges and learn more about the school’s programs and needs. Booths were set up to showcase various ways individuals and organizations could contribute, from financial donations to volunteering opportunities. The fair served as a platform for fostering community engagement and building partnerships to support the academy’s mission.

In addition to the giving fair, Community leaders pledged their support, promising to contribute resources and volunteer time to the school. Their involvement is expected to play a crucial role in expanding the academy’s programs and ensuring that its students continue to receive the support they need to thrive.

As the day concluded, the atmosphere was one of hope and optimism. The celebration of academic achievements, combined with the strong call for community support, underscored Smart Generation Academy’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of its students.

Speakers at the occasion, are Muhammad Ladan Shatiman Gwadangaji and as well double as Wakilin Muhammadu Adamu Housing Estate, Dr. Aminu Haliru Bunza Special Adviser to the Kebbi State governor on Health matters and Sheikh Nasiru Bunza among others.

The founder’s message of solidarity and generosity left a lasting impression, reinforcing the school’s role as a beacon of hope for orphans and vulnerable children in the community.
