The Police Command in Ogun has deployed some of its personnel across the state to ensure hitch-free Eid-el Firt celebrations.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ota,Ogun.

Oyeyemi said that the measures being put in place were not only for Eid-el-Fitri celebrations, adding that the command had always taken measures to ensure safety of the lives and property of residents of the state.

“The Eid-el-Fitri celebrations will not be an exception because our men had been deployed to all the nooks and crannies of the state,” he said.

Oyeyemi further said that the Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Edward Ajogun, had directed all the area commanders and divisional police officers (DPOs) to be on red alert throughout the sallah period.

The PPRO added that the tactical, anti-kidnapping and anti-cultism units had been deployed across the state to further beef up security during the Eid-el Firt celebrations.

“All the recreational centres and places of worship have been properly scrutinised by the police to avoid any untoward occurrence throughout the period of the celebrations,” he said.

According to him, personnel in the bomb unit have also been deployed in praying grounds to monitor and curb any criminal act while the celebrations lasted. (NAN)
