Category 2 Hurricane Delta Makes Landfall Along Mexico Coast

Hurricane Delta has made landfall along the northeastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula near Puerto Morelos, Mexico as a category 2 storm, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Wednesday.

The hurricane was located about 20 miles (35 km) south of Cancun, Mexico, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 miles per hour (175 km per hour), the NHC said.
