Former deputy governorship candidate in Kano State,.Hon Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo has joined Muslims across Nigeria in marking the Eid-el-Maulud, a commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The 12th of Rabi Ul Awwal is celebrated globally by Muslims, with Islamic school children participating in recitations and songs that honor the Prophet’s virtues.

In his message, Murtala Sule Garo called on Muslims to reflect on the values exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW), such as love for one’s neighbor, patience, honesty, empathy, kindness, and generosity.

Garo also expressed concern over the rising cost of living in Nigeria, noting that it is the government’s duty to protect the lives and property of its citizens. He urged leaders at all levels to implement urgent measures to alleviate the hardship facing the people.

He emphasized, “Economic policies that will ensure the material well-being of the poor, vulnerable, as well as working people should be the priority of every government.

“Governments must create a favorable economic atmosphere for businesses to thrive. Job creation and employment opportunities for our teeming youth is necessary.

“The issue of almajiri is critical. Intervention that will better their lives and lift them off the street is vital at this moment.

“I urge Muslims to use Maulud gatherings to intensify prayers for stability and economic well-being.”
