The Kebbi State Government has trained procurement officers from 14 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) on public procurement procedures, processes, and implementation of the law in contracts.

Alhaji Muhammad Sirajo-Garba, Chairman of the Price Intelligence and Public Procurement Bureau (Due Process), stated that the training aimed to ensure that MDAs’ procurement proposals align with the approved budget.

The training, organized by the Due Process office, focused on availing procurement officers with the processes and principles of public procurement. Sirajo-Garba emphasized the need for adherence to procurement processes and procedures, citing previous reports from MDAs that neglected these guidelines.

Governor Nasir Idris declared the training open, stressing that all contracts awarded under his administration must strictly adhere to due process before receiving his approval. He reaffirmed that transparency and accountability would remain the cornerstone of his administration’s contract-awarding process.

Idris praised the Due Process office for its integrity and diligent observance of the principles of law, order, and transparency. He urged participants to engage fully with the workshop’s objectives and consult with senior management when necessary.

The governor received the “Procurement Compliance and Good Governance Award, 2024” from the Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria (APPON) for his adherence to best practices and procurement processes.
