Kebbi State Governor Pledges To Reconstruct Damaged Bridges, Roads

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has promised to reconstruct bridges and roads washed away by floods in Suru and Maiyama Local Government Areas. He made this pledge during an inspection tour of the affected areas on Tuesday.

The governor visited the washed-away bridge along Suru-Kawara-Dakingari road and surveyed damaged rice farms in Suru Local Government. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting all communities in the state.

Governor Idris assured that the state government would rehabilitate the bridges and reconstruct the roads, while also continuing to assist farmers to ensure effective food production and food security in the state.

Local leaders, including a member of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Faruku Maisudan, and the APC chairmanship candidate of Suru, Mohd Lawal, commended the governor for his efforts in supporting farmers.

The governor also inspected damaged infrastructure in Maiyama Local Government Area, including a washed-away bridge in Mayalo village linking to over twenty villages and a culvert along Diggi road. He assured the affected communities that the state government would rehabilitate the damaged infrastructure.

The governor was accompanied by his deputy, Sen. Umar Abubakar-Tafida, Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, and other officials.
