As Kebbi State marks 33 years since its creation, the current administration of Governor Nasir Idris has made significant strides in transforming the state’s developmental trajectory. With a focus on transparency, agricultural productivity, education, and healthcare, Governor Idris has positioned himself as a pivotal force in Kebbi’s history.

Background

Kebbi State was created on August 27, 1991, along with eight other states in Nigeria. Since its inception, the state has been governed by several leaders, including military administrators and elected governors.

Governor Nasir Idris’ Achievements

– Infrastructural Development: Significant progress in infrastructure, including road projects, urbanization of major towns, and rural transformation agenda.

– Education: Billions of naira invested in the education sector, focusing on school construction, rehabilitation, and provision of instructional materials.

– Healthcare: Prioritization of healthcare, including salary increases for doctors and health workers, regularization of casual staff, and medical treatment for mental health patients.
