Engineer Abba Sule Namatazu PRP National Vice Chairman Northwest has stated that there is nothing in the election process of the Local Governments thats state Governors are doing except dictatorship.
He said that what they are trying to do is nothing more than commercializing democracy and locking themselves and their followers in the seats of power at the local government level so that they will continue to steal people’s wealths.This is contrary to the ruling of he Supreme Court to confirmed the autonomy of local governments in Nigeria.
Engineer Abba Sule Namatazu said this step, they have imposed on all those who want to serve in the local Government to pay a ransom from N10m to N5m as a candidate for the chairman in the local government and councilors even though from Tinubu to Abba Kabir Yusuf no one has paid the INEC even a penny to stand for election.
He added that doing so will allow them to prevent other parties and members of even NNPP from contesting as long as it is not someone else or the government that stands with them. He also pushed the masses away from seeking the seats of power in Nigeria regardless of their quality.
Engineer Abba Sule Namatazu said that this is a bad ideology that confirms the dictatorship which became necessary for the good peoples stand against it
Namatazu said as members of the PRP, they will not allow some minorities to continue to enslave people’s .They will challenge this thing which he called as negligence in the court if the Governors do not withdraw the imposing ransom money on the candidates.
