Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has praised the Nigerian Army’s gallantry and valour in restoring security and peace to the state.

He made the commendation during a courtesy visit by the new acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Sokoto, and Commander, Joint Task Force North West, ‘Hadarin Daji’, Brigadier-General Ibikunle Ademola Ajose, at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Nasir acknowledged the military’s efforts in addressing banditry and insecurity in the state, particularly in the southern region. He noted that the military’s interventions have enabled residents to return to their towns and villages and resume farming activities.

The Governor assured the new GOC of his administration’s continued support for the military and other security agencies in maintaining peace and security in the state. He also commended the outgoing Commander, Brig.-Gen. Sani Ahmed, for his services to Kebbi State.

Earlier, Brig.-Gen. Ajose thanked the Governor for his support to the Nigerian Army and the military, citing examples of operational vehicles, medical bill settlements, and administrative assistance. He reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to protecting lives and property and safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
