Togolese farmers producers will receive 65,000 tons of seeds from the government for the new agricultural season, PANA learned on Sunday from official sources in Lomé.

The government will distribute the seeds through the seed network, after the rapid constitution of a stock and installation of distribution kiosks in each region by the Central Supply and Management of Inputs (CAGIA) and the Togolese Institute of Agronomic Research (ITRA).

For this crop year, seeds are labeled, unlike in previous years when they were sold in bulk.

Prices approved by the seed federations are as follows: 500 F/kg for maize, 625 F/kg for soybean, 425 F/kg for rice, and 750 F/kg for groundnut.

The National Development Programme (PND) of Togo relies on agriculture for the development of the economy by emphasizing the processing of agricultural products.
