The Kano State Shariah Commission, says it recorded 14 marital, inter-sect and inter-religious cases from August to October 2020.

Alhaji Dayyabu Rasheed, Director Planning, Research and Statistics of the Commission, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Kano.

Rasheed said that the commission resolved four out of the 14 cases, adding that eight were pending, while two were ongoing.

He noted that some of the petitioners preferred to resolve their differences at the commission rather than go to law courts.

The director said that the commission plans to sensitise tricycle riders on the need to obey traffic rules and regulations.

Rasheed added that the event was also designed to discourage them from carrying male and female passengers at the same time as doing so was immoral and a means of promoting immorality among youths in the society.

He enjoined parents to monitor and ensure proper upbringing of their wards and children.(NAN)
