Man In Court For Allegedly Abducting 2-Yr-Old Baby In Ogun

A 44-year-old man, Adetoro David, on Monday appeared in an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly abducting a two-year-old baby.

The police charged David, whose address was not given with two counts of abduction and conspiracy.

The Prosecutor, Insp. A.O.Adebayo, told the court that the defendant and other, at large, committed the offence at Oju-Ore area, Ota.

Adebayo alleged that the defendant and his accomplices abducted the a two- year-old baby, belonging to Mr and Mrs Yemi Oluwole.

She said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 28,371(1) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun,2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty .

Chief Magistrate O.L Oke admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Oke ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.

The magistrate adjourned the matter until Nov.19 for further hearing.(NAN)
