The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi has rejected in totality the results of the just concluded Local Government elections in the state, describing it as mere political chicanery and mischievous shenanigan masterminded by the PDP led government.

The party in a press conference in Bauchi Sunday said any person sworn-in to office based on the unlawful PDP/BASIEC results shall be occupying the seat illegally and without the support of his people.

It could be recalled that the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) Saturday conducted Local Government elections in Bauchi state where without formally announcing the results by commission, has the state government hurriedly sworn-in the said winners of the elections.

Bauchi state party chairman, Uba Ahmed Nana said they cannot engage themselves to the jurisdiction of the Local Government Election Tribunal inaugurated in Bauchi on October 13, 2020 because the party cannot get justice in the dispute.

Alhaji Uba Nana however called on security agencies in the state to respect their constitutional role of protecting the lives and properties of citizens without bias or relegating themselves as useful tools in the hands of the Governor for victimization and operation of APC members.

In spite of the negative development, the APC therefore called on all party members and stakeholders to remain law abiding, for the pary will do everything possible within the confines of the law to restore its mandate, by the special grace of God.

Nana described the Saturday’s councils’ elections in Bauchi state as a gyp designed by the PDP Government to deprive the people of Bauchi state of their constitutional right of franchise and democratic freedom.

He concluded, “As a political party, the APC totally disassociated itself from the broad-day robbery of the peoples’ mandate and shall within the confines of the law, strive to restore the said mandate as soon as practicable”.
