Gov Bala Solicits Media Support In Purging Out Ghost Workers In Bauchi Civil Service

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has called for the Support of the media in purging out ghost workers in the services of the state.

He explained that Bauchi civil service is bedeviled by ghost workers who are clandestinely milking the state’s hard earned internally generated revenue.

The governor was speaking Wenesday while receiving the newly elected officials of the state council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the Government House, Bauchi.

While explaining that ghost workers are prevalence in the state health sector, the governor said that 45 of the 100 medical doctors in the state are ghost workers.

According to him, the state judiciary is compiling documentary evidences to prosecute the ghost medical doctors, stressing that a lot of ghost workers across the civil service are receiving twice or thrice salaries.

The governor, who approved the provision of a brand new 406 to the Bauchi state council of the NUJ for the office of the chairman, assured the union of all it’s pressing needs within the very foreseeable future.

He also assured the NUJ of the state government’s support and cooperation at all times.

The state NUJ Chaiman, Comrade Umar Sa’idu had earlier commended the Bauchi state government under the able leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed for the tremendous achievements it recorded within the past one year.

Sa’idu similarly hailed Governor Bala Mohammed for his concern to working Journalists in the state especially in the provision of working tools and equipment.
