Dr Nureni Adeniran, the Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) said this in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Monday.

Adeniran in a statement stated this while leading members of the board and the management of SUBEB on an official inspection to Islamic Mission Schools I & II, Bode and UMC Demonstration Basic Schools I, II & III, Molete, Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the visit was to warn owners of shanties and illegal structures around the schools’ environments to desist from their unhygienic acts.

Adeniran said judging from the readiness of the State through the preparation of students in all terminal classes, students in the State would face any external examinations.

He said the students had been fully prepared for examinations that would be conducted by WAEC and the Joint Admissions Matriculation Examination (JAMB).

“Oyo State is on top of the situation, we are preparing our students and pupils in the terminal classes for all examinations.

“You also know that SUBEB has been organising classes for all categories of pupils and students through the television stations since the pandemic broke out, it shows our readiness,” he said.

Adeniran said that the State Government would not condone any form of illegality in the education sector, especially, in the primary schools across the State.

“We will not allow the erection of shanties, kiosks and illegal structures around our school premises; we are not going to condone such illegality, allowing such will have negative impacts on the psyche and the performances of our pupils.

“We have come to warn them and give them an ultimatum for evacuation of their structures today unfailingly. However, we shall come back and demolish the structures if they fail to remove them,” he said.

The Chairman added that the State Government was not after the destruction of property and businesses of the people, but rather, to bring about sanity.
