The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Kwara State Council, has felicitated with its christain members at Easter.

The message is contained in a statement by the association’s Chairman, Mr Abdulhakeem Garba, to the christain members on Sunday in Ilorin.

While congratulating the faithful, Garba urged journalists in the state to function with consciousness as the world grapples with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, it said.

“As we celebrate and reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we wish you glorious celebration, even as we advise members to celebrate with moderation, taking cognisance of the social distancing practice as advised by health experts.

“Our job being an essential function, should be done with consciousness as the world combats the Coronavirus pandemic that has continued to claim lives, since its outbreak.

“Remember, no job is worth dying for, let us together with our entire family members, ensure to stay safe and imbibe the practice of regular hand washing and avoidance of bodily contacts.

“The safety and welfare of the entire members is our utmost concern.

“We pray no disease will find a way to our various homes. Once again, Happy Easter and continue to stay safe,” the message read in part.
