His Excellency, Zamfara State Executive Governor, Hon. Dr. Bello Mohammed MON (Matawallen Maradun) has on teusday 7 April 2020 paid a private visit to the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau to commiserate with the patients on admission at the facility where he also donated the sum of N20,000 to each of the 56 patients on admission and suffering from different ailments.
This was disclosed in a press statement by Mista YUSUF IDRIS GUSAU, Director General Media, Public Enlightenment and Communication. Government House, Gusau, made a vailable to newsmen in Gusau yesterday, he stated that the governor while promise to do his best in making the state’s public hospitals the best in the country charged the patients to consider their condition as an act of Almighty Allah and a source of self cleansing as well as nearness to the creator.
Governor Matawalle who was accompanied by the Task Force Chairman on the Prevention and Control of the Spread of Corona Virus who is also the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya used the visit to inspect some of the hospital’s equipment that were supplied over six years ago but abandoned in their containers by the past administration and directed for their immediate release for use at the facility.
The hospital equipment include electrically controlled beds and chairs, mattresses and other basic equipment.
He expressed shock over how the past government misused the equipment at a time when the hospital required them most and urged the hospital management to put them to effective utilization.
Matawalle warned that his administration will not tolerate any abuse of government property and reiterated his administration’s resolve to continue to give priority to the health care delivery sector with special attention to free medical care to women and children.
Recall that the containers were recently discovered at the hospital premises when the Speaker Magarya’s task force visited the hospital to ensure its preparedness in handling any possible case of the corona virus disease in the state.
The governor who was specifically at the hospital to see the Emir of Bungudu’s mother who is also on admission, sympathized and prayed for her quick recovery and gave a hundred thousand naira each to the nurses, doctors and ward attendants while the hospital security got N200,000 to share among themselves.
Also on the governor’s entourage were his Principal Private Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Jafaru Maradun and the Director-general of Protocol, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf among others.
