The Yobe State Security Council today reviewed the security situation in the state to further strengthen security in all communities across the state.
The meeting which was chaired by the Executive Governor, Mai Mala Buni, discussed extensively on increased surveillance along the borders to curb incursions into the state, as witnessed some few weeks ago.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security matters, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), said new operational measures have been adopted to enhance security across the state.
“His Excellency the Executive Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni visited the Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and they had very extensive meeting on reinforcement and measures to boost security in the state.
“There are further plans to meet with the other service chiefs to deepen the discussions on the additional measures to improve security in the state.” He said.
The meeting also endorsed a joint operation by security agencies to clear possible Improvised Explosive Devices in Mafa community before the people are allowed to go back.
According to the Adviser, the council charged the security agencies to hasten the clearance operation, and to provide adequate security for the people to harvest their farms.
