Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State – In a significant victory against banditry, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) have neutralized two bandits and recovered an operational motorcycle in Unguwar Sarkin Musulmi area of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
The operation, conducted on August 16, 2024, was led by Brigadier General TM Opurum, Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 1 Joint Task Force (North West) Operation Hadarin Daji. Acting on credible intelligence, the troops swiftly responded to reports of violent extremist activities in the area and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel.
The successful operation has secured the area, with troops maintaining an aggressive presence and conducting confidence-building patrols to ensure the safety of locals. This victory demonstrates the ongoing commitment of Operation Hadarin Daji to rid Zamfara State of banditry and restore peace and security to the region.
The operation is part of the broader efforts of Operation Sahel Sanity II, aimed at addressing the security challenges in the North West region. The success of this operation is a testament to the effectiveness of the military’s strategy and the bravery of the troops.
