The Russian Ministry of Health has received a set of documents from the Gamaleya research centre for registration of the Gam-COVID-Vac-M Coronavirus vaccine for teenagers.

The decision on possible registration would be made when the documents were examined, Assistant Minister Alexey Kuznetsov told Sputnik on Thursday.

“The Russian Ministry of Health has received a package of documents for registration of the Gam-COVID-Vac-M vaccine for preventing COVID-19 in teenagers from the Gamaleya National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology.

“ In line with an established procedure, the documents will be sent for examination, after which a decision will be made on state registration of the vaccine.

“If the vaccine is registered, teenagers’ inoculation will be “exclusively voluntary, only with consent of parents or other legal representatives,’’ Kuznetsov said.
