The Katsina State Police Command said operatives killed three suspected bandits and rescued a number of kidnapped victims during an attack in Sabuwa local government area of the state.

Spokesman of the Command, Sadiq Abubakar, in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP on Saturday, said while the operatives succeeded in foiling the kidnapping attempt, three notorious bandits were also neutralised during the encounter.

On receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Aliyu Mustapha, in collaboration with members of the vigilante, mobillised a team of operatives to the scene.

The statement noted that the bandits opened fire on the security operatives team upon sighting the team, which was responded gallantly and successfully, leading to the thwarting of the kidnapping attempt.
