The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kebbi State Chapter has expressed its heartfelt condolences to the victims of the recent flooding that swept through many communities across the state.

In a press statement signed by the State Secretary, Hon. Abubakar Bawa Kalgo, the party’s State Chairman, Alh Usman Bello Suru, described the flooding incidents as “God’s will” and called for fervent prayers to ease the sufferings of the affected victims.

The party also urged the State and National Emergency Management Agencies to expedite actions to cushion the hardship of the victims. Alh Usman Bello criticized the State Government agencies involved in Climate Change mitigation for not taking proactive measures to reduce the havoc, despite the National Metrological Agency’s (NIMET) earlier prediction of flooding in some parts of Kebbi State over three months ago.

The PDP assured that some of its elected officials have already started providing support to the affected communities, while others will soon distribute palliatives to the victims in their respective constituencies.

The party’s 2023 Gubernatorial Candidate, Maj. Gen. Aminu Bande (rtd), and other elected officials also joined in commiserating with the flood victims.
