The Nasarawa State Government has established a new Upper Area Court in Wamba Local Government Area of the state. Justice Suleiman Dikko, Chief Judge of the state disclosed this on Wednesday in Wamba, while inspecting facilities at the new court.
He said that the establishment of the court was aimed at reducing the number of cases in the Upper Area Court Akwanga.
“Before now, cases within the jurisdiction of Upper Area Court emanating from Wamba were taken to Akwanga.
“But with this new court, it will bring justice closer to the people of Wamba and also help in decongesting the workload in the Upper Area Court Akwanga,” he said.
He noted that Wamba was the only local government before now that does not have an Upper Area Court, hence the need for the establishment of one.
Dikko, who explained that the judiciary in the state has more than 70 magistrates, promised to transfer one to man the affair of the newly established court.
Also speaking, Nagogo expressed gratitude to the patriotic citizen who had offered his house free for the takeoff of the court.
He promised to continue to assist in the development of the state.
