LG Polls: Kebbi State Governor Credits Track Record for High Voter Turnout In Local Government Elections

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has attributed the large turnout of voters in the recent local government elections across the state to his administration’s track record.

Speaking after casting his vote at Nagari Science Government College in Birnin Kebbi, Governor Nasir highlighted his government’s efforts in providing an enabling environment for the elections, ensuring orderliness and participation of all political parties.

He noted that this was the second election conducted during his tenure, following the inconclusive elections in Arewa/Dandi, while in Shanga/Yauri federal constituencies a fresh election was conducted following the appointment of Honourable Dr. Yusuf Tanko -Sununu as state Minister of Education, my party APC won all the two electrons.

He expressed confidence that his party’s candidates would win the local government elections, citing his administration’s achievements and commitment to democracy.

The governor further speak on local government autonomy, stated that the Kebbi State Government is fully in support of the Supreme Court’s judgment and is working harmoniously with local government councils to execute projects and ensure the presence of government in all councils.
