Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on members of Keffi Old Boys Association (KOBA) to contribute toward the completion of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua e-library project in the school.

Sule made the appeal on Saturday at the re-launching of the project during the 70th KOBA anniversary in Keffi Local Government Area of the state.

He said that it had become imperative due to the importance of the project to the development of education sector and the country at large.

He noted that the school has produced many Nigerians, who have occupied important positions in the past and now, hence the need for them to give back to the school what the school has given them.

The governor, however, promised to renovate and equip Benue House that was in a dilapidated condition to give it a face lift.

“When they told me that there will be 70th anniversary of the school, I have released N100 million for the re-construction of the school roads, that is why everybody can see a good road now,” he said.

Sule also urged the people of the state and Nigerians in general to live in peace and tolerate one another in the interest of development.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who is also a member of the association, restated his continued commitment to support the school in creating an enable environment for teaching and learning.

Mohammed said the school was an epitome of unity in those days where there was no religious and ethnic sentiments but merit and discipline were the order of the day.

He recalled that admission into the school then was not based on ethnic and religious sentiments but strictly on merit.

The minister, however, urged Nigerians to build and promote the unity of the country in the interest of development.

Dr Shehu Yamusa 111, the Emir of Keffi, also advised the KOBA members and other well-meaning Nigerians to continue to contribute positively to the development of the school.

The Acting President-General of KOBA, Prof. Bello Salim, and Justice James Ogebe, who is the Chairman of the occasion and an Old boy of the school, called on government and wealthy individuals to give special attention to the development of the institution.

The Principal Consultant of the project, Mr Shehu Tukur, recalled that the late Yar’Adua memorial e-library was launched in 2009 during KOBA 60th anniversary.

Tukur however said that it was not completed, hence the need for re-launching e-library.
