Kebbi State Polytechnic Dakingari Receives NBTE Approval For New Programs

By Umar Faruk Birnin Kebbi

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted approval to Kebbi State Polytechnic Dakingari to commence six new programs, effective from the 2024/2025 academic session.

The approved programs include: ND Science Laboratory Technology: 2 streams of 40 students each, ND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology: 1 stream of 40 students, ND Fisheries Technology: 1 stream of 40 students, ND Computer Science: 1 stream of 40 students, ND Library and Information Science: 1 stream of 40 students, ND Public Administration: 1 stream of 60 students.

According to the approval letter signed by Dr. Fatima Kabir Umar, Director of Polytechnic Programs Department, the polytechnic management is required to commence admission into these programs from the 2024/2025 session. Failure to do so will result in the lapse of approval, and admission will only be allowed after a fresh resource inspection visitation.

However, the approved programs will be due for full accreditation visitation when the first set of students are in their fourth semester of studies. It is the institution’s responsibility to invite the board for the full accreditation exercise within the specified period to avoid disqualification from making further admissions.

This development is a significant milestone for Kebbi State Polytechnic Dakingari, which aims to provide quality technical education and skills development opportunities to its students . The polytechnic’s mission is to be a leading institution in academic excellence, producing entrepreneurs and promoting technological development.
