The Kebbi State Government has disbursed N6.5 billion to 65,000 beneficiaries under the ‘Kaura Cares’ Livelihood Support program. Governor Nasir Idris flagged off the disbursement exercise in Birnin Kebbi, stating that each beneficiary received N100,000, an unprecedented amount in the nation’s history.
He emphasized that the program fulfills his campaign promise and has quadrupled the initial number of beneficiaries. He directed the Ministry of Health to identify recipients in need of medical treatment, which the state will shoulder the responsibility for.
The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abba Sani-Kalgo, announced that the governor approved N6.5 billion for disbursement to 65,000 beneficiaries. The state Programme Coordinator NG-Cares, Dr. Rukayya Muhammad-Bawa, highlighted the program’s objectives and achievements.
