The Kano State Government has awarded a N15.97 billion contract for the construction of two interchange bridges at Dan-Agundi and Tal’udu junctions in the metropolis. This information was conveyed in a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Baba Dantiye, on Friday in Kano.
Dantiye announced that the State Executive Council (SEC), in its recent meeting, approved the construction of these two interchange bridges. These projects aim to decongest the roads, alleviate traffic congestion, bolster business and commercial activities, and foster overall economic growth within the state.
The Commissioner highlighted that Messrs CGC Nigeria Limited secured the contract for the projects at a cost of N15.97 billion, with funding to be jointly provided by the state and local government councils.
“The state government assures the general public of the timely execution of these two projects and pledges the initiation of more public-oriented and developmental projects in both rural and urban areas to enhance the overall well-being of the people,” he stated.
He advised motorists using the affected roads to utilize alternative routes and tolerate the temporary inconvenience that the execution of these projects might cause them. (NAN)
