I Will Continue Providing Skill Materials For Women Self-Reliance – Says Bauchi First Lady

Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya A’isha Bala Mohammed has vowed to continue providing skill materials for women in the state towards making them self-reliance to better their livelihood.

Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed gave the support assurance yesterday while presenting consignment of skill materials to 100 womenfolk for onward distribution to women generally in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi state.

A’isha recalled that ever since her husband’s assumption to power, she has been providing such support to the womenfolk in various communities across the state, which to date thousands have benefitted, saying the gesture was part of her efforts to improve the living condition of women in the state generally.

According to her, the move was to demonstrated the gesture exhibited by the womenfolk during the 2019 elections when they massively voted for the party of her husband to emerge victories, assuring that she would continue to provide them dividends of democracy.

The Commissioner of Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Hajara Jibrin Gidado has earlier at the occasion noted that the skill materials would significantly assisted beneficiaries in improving their living conditions.

She called on women generally not to relent in their support to the Governor Bala-led administration that is all out to salvage the people of the state from the cramps of poverty.

Hajara recalled that since the inception of the present administration in the state, her office and the first lady has been unveiling laudable policies and programmes being geared to tailor the needs and aspirations of the womenfolk in the state.

The commissioner counseled beneficiaries of skill materials distribution not to dispose the materials for peanuts, as well as curb their girl-child from hawkings, and run their petty trades in their matrimonial homes.

She revealed that a number of local government areas of the state benefitted from the programme worth millions of naira, while commending them for the support and loyalty to the state government.

One of the beneficiaries of the skill materials distribution, Malama Asmau Muhammad commended the first lady, A’sha for the gesture, and assured of making the best use of poverty alleviation materials afforded them.
