Group Organize Free Medical Outreach For Rural Communities In Zaria

A private hospital ‘Simple Hospital Shika Zaria’ has extended a free medical outreach to treat and give free drugs to people of rural communities of Shika, Mil Goma and Tsibiri in Giwa local government of Kaduna state as part of their co-operate responsibly to the people in the area.

In his interaction with journalists, the manager of the hospital, Dr Yusuf Danlami Haruna,  explains that the Hospital established about 5 years ago is organizing this type of medical out reached for the first time, ‘’The program is part of the hospital motive and our contributions to service to humanity, our hospital consists of teams of professional that has humanity in mind, the less privilege the orphans in the society are our target, that is why we deem it very necessary to organized something like this so as to help the people of the area we are located” he says.

He further added that “After this very one we are conducting, it is our plan that next time we would be going to Giwa town where we would take special cases mostly cases that has to with surgeries, after that we would think of another village to take the outreach to, probably before the end the year we want to have at least 3 outreach”.

He also explained that they are treating different types of  diseases like malaria, diabetes hypertension kidney and other diseases, we consult and give drugs as appropriate, and those that we cannot handle at the moment we refer them to other medical facilities.

Haruna stated that they are targeting to attend to at least 200 to 400 patients, but the number of patients that attend even with the short notice is very overwhelming, he also calls on government and other philanthropists to join hands with them so that more communities can be reached.

He advises people to avoid self medication, “Once you have any feeling of headache or so you should encourage yourselves to go the hospital to see a medical practitioner, by this a lot of alignment would be treated in a very early stage before it deteriorated” he said.

Beneficiaries include Malam Dalhatu Abubakar Wazirin Shika, Malam Asiya Mohammed, Jamila Ahmed Tsibiri, who thank the organizers of the program.
