Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, on Wednesday, met with all the district heads across the state, to solicit their support on tackling security challenges, especially banditry and kidnapping in the state.

The meeting, presided over by the governor at the late Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall, government house, Lafia, also discussed ways on how to curtail the second wave of the corona virus pandemic

Sule said  the meeting, convened by the state government, would also afford his administration the opportunity to rub minds with the district heads on sustaining the much needed awareness on the ravaging pandemic.

On the issue of security, Sule noted that being closer to the people at the grassroots, the district heads were in the best position to advice and guide the government, as well as work together, on how to approach the challenge.

On the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the governor warned that the virus was still active, urging the district heads to convey government’s concerns on the issue, as well as create the necessary awareness amongst their subjects at the grassroots.

The governor thanked all those who attended the meeting, especially the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage, who doubles as the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Traditional Rulers.

He explained that the meeting also afforded him the opportunity to meet and interact with the district heads, with a view to understanding their challenges. (NAN)
