Gov. Nasir Presents N250 Billion Budget To Kebbi Assembly

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has presented a N 250, 134, 091, 757.01 billion 2024 budget of infrastructure and empowerment to the House Assembly for approval.

Dr. Nasir made the presentation on Wednesday a t the Assembly Chambers in Birnin Kebbi.

The budget of infrastructure and empowerment for the people of the state and also to meet up the demands of state citizenry and to fulfill the campaign promises made to our people.

The governor, said during the presentation that 2024 budget has a recurrent expenditure of 90.6 billion, while capital expenditure stood at 159.4 billion. Some key sectors of the state’s economy recorded increased budgeting due to the government’s decision to fund new Kebbi State plan, the governor explained.

He said part of the plan was to address issues such as job creation for youth and women, schools rehabilitation, Roads construction, security and providing good drinking water and environmental challenges in the state.

” Under the 2024 budget, we will immediately accelerate our policy planned and sustainable programme in the state”. He said. Dr. Nasir said the government’s infrastructural development plan will ” deliberately target the provision of infrastructural and empowerment system” which will be a direct bearing to Kebbi citizenry, adding that such plan will also target renovation of schools, roads construction and modernising the state.

” The 2024 budget signals a significant investment in providing good drinking water, empowering women and youth groups. He than assured state Assembly members continue harmonies coexistence and working relationship. While appreciating house of assembly of the state for their tileless effort they put in demonstrating good legislation to the entire people of the state.

In his response, the state house of assembly speaker, Hon. Usman Muhammad assured governor Nasir Idris for a speedy passed of the the 2024 budget presented to the house for approval. While promising the governor of the house redness to ensure the budget to be appropriated would meet up the demands of state citizens because house members are also representatives of people of the state from different constituencies of same state.

He than thanked governor Nasir Idris for his commitment and hard-working for the betterment of our dear state and its citizens.
