Dr Manasseh Jatau, the Deputy Governor of Gombe state, on Saturday urged the people of Tangale kingdom in Billiri Local Government Area, Gombe state, to be inspired by the virtues of their late traditional ruler, Abdu Buba-Maisheru.
He stated this at the burial of the paramount ruler who died on Jan. 10.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, the late Tangale chief, also chairman Northern states and FCT Christian traditional rulers, died at the age of 72 at the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Gombe.
Jatau said that the late Buba-Maisheru had left a legacy for everyone, especially the people of the Tangale Kingdom to uphold.
“He has lived a life worthy of emulation, we accept the will of God Almighty and we pray for God to give the deceased family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
He said although Mai Tangale’s exit was painful but “we give glory to God for the life well spent.
NAN reports that Buba-Maisheru had his elementary education between 1962 and 1968 where he obtained the Primary leaving certificate.
He also attended Success Commercial Institute Ibadan, Oyo State, between 1970 and 1971 and obtained Typist Grade 11 certificate.
The late Buba-Maisheru attended Kaduna Polytechnic between 1974 and 1977 where he obtained a higher certificate in Catering Management.
He later served in both public and the private sectors in various capacities and was appointed the 15th Mai Tangale Kingdom on May 24, 2001, a position he held until his demise.(NAN)
