Final assessment on Fertilizer Plan, Rice Mills In Katsina State

The federal ministry of environment has gave an EIA final assessment on two companies to be open in Katsina State, the first one is rice mills which is under construction with the capacity to produce six hundred thousand tons of assorted rice per annum.

At the meeting which took place last week in katsina , a renowned agro-enterpreneur, Alhaji Attahiru Bala Usman explained that the company was an effort by business mogul, Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal to discourage the smuggling of foreign rice into Nigeria.

He said Darma Rice Mill will also create multiple employment opportunities in the production, processing and sale of local rice in the country.

Similarly, another agro-allied factory, which is a fertilizer production plant, has been giving the EIA final assesment is greentide agroservice Ltd located in funtua Katsina state

The chairman of the company, Alhaji Attahiru Bala Usman explained that Greentide Agroservices Limited has a capacity to produce about four hundred and fifty tons of fertilizer per annum.

He noted that the company’s fertilizer will be produced through the use of Urea, Di-ammonium Phosphate, Potash and Limestone Granules as raw materials.

He said the company which was a joint venture with Alhaji Ibrahim Bala Kuki, will stimulate agricultural development by making fertilizer available to farmers at a low price.
